Newcastle United are believed to be preparing a £9million bid for Ajax captain Siem De Jong.
The Magpies are in need of some quality arrivals this winter after losing Demba Ba to Chelsea and it has been suggested that they are targeting the 23-year old playmaker.
According to the Daily Mail, De Jong has two years remaining on his contract but is prepared to remain with Ajax until that expires although Newcastle have the resources to heighten his wages if it comes to that.
