The potential signing of Georginio Wijnaldum will still cost Tottenham plenty of money according to recent reports.

The Daily Mail suggests that Newcastle United have not wavered in their £25million valuation of the Dutch midfielder who impressed in his debut season with the Magpies.

Spurs are after an attacking midfielder having already signed Dutch striker Vincent Janssen from AZ Alkmaar and Kenyan defensive midfielder Victor Wanyama from Southampton.

However, the asking price of the Toon is stalling any possible pursuit as Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has no intention of spending that kind of money.

Everton are also showing interest in the former PSV Eindhoven captain who would reportedly jump at the chance to work with his fellow countryman and with the Toffees now cashed up, perhaps a move to Goodison Park could be on the cards.
