Newcastle United have reportedly made a significant bid for Lyon midfielder Clement Grenier.
Reports suggest that the Magpies have lodged an £8million offer for the 23-year old France international as they seek a replacement for Yohan Cabaye who has left for Paris Saint-Germain.
Grenier has two years remaining on his contract with Lyon but the Toon are hopeful of landing their man before the end of the week.
