Newcastle United remain keen on FC Utrecht star Ricky van Wolfswinkel.
The Evening Chronicle says Toon may revive their interest in 21-year-old Dutch striker Van Wolfswinkel when the transfer window re-opens for business but will face stiff competition from Liverpool.
Both Premier League clubs made enquiries after Wolfswinkel in the final weeks of the market.
