Newcastle United legend Nobby Solano has applied for the manager's job at Bury.
Solano is among those to have applied for the Bury manager's position after Kevin Blackwell was sacked on Monday, says the Manchester Evening News.
He had a managerial stint back in his homeland, taking charge of Universitario in June 2012, and was relieved of his duties in December despite steering the top-flight side away from the relegation zone and into the top half.
Solano, who also played in the Premier League for Aston Villa and West Ham, has since turned down coaching opportunities overseas as he wants to make his mark in English football and do for a club like Bury what Gus Poyet did for Brighton.
