Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer is backing Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney to return to Everton.

Shearer has told BBC Radio Five Live he thinks Wayne Rooney will return to Everton.

Rooney revealed a decision on his future would be made in the next few weeks after his Manchester United struggles this season.

He said: "My guess would be an emotional return to where it all started, Everton."
