Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has mixed feelings over Gary Neville's role as TV pundit and England coach.

The Manchester United legend was slated by Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez for his dual roles.

Shearer told The Sun: "I agree that it could get awkward.

"There will come a time when Neville will have to analyse or criticise an England player when he has a bad game he is covering for TV.

"Only Neville and England manager Roy Hodgson will know how to get round that.

"But in his current role Neville is seeing more football than anyone - and that can only be good."
