Alan Shearer had all his Cardiff City backroom staff lined up, it has been revealed.
The People says Shearer's shock decision to snub the Cardiff City job - after spending two days talking to the Welsh side - also rocked some of his pals.
Newcastle United legend Shearer had lined up his backroom staff ahead of the move until he got cold feet and turned down a return to the hot seat.
The former England star was bringing in his old sidekick Tommy Craig, the coach who got him fast-tracked for a coaching badge in Scotland, and ex-team-mate Stuart Gray - currently on Burnley's backroom staff.
Shearer was even going for goalkeeping coach Alan Fettis, who is at Manchester United's academy. But his grand plans were scrapped at the last moment.
