Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has slammed the culture at Chelsea.

Shearer labelled Chelsea an "embarrassing mess" in the wake of the outburst by Rafa Benitez.

Shearer said on yesterday's BBC Football Focus: "There is no class there, is there? The whole club are a mess, it's embarrassing.

"Rafa feels he's taken enough punches and he's decided to have a go back. Fans who've been there 50, 60, 70 years will be asking what's happening."
