Newcastle United legend David Ginola is confident manager Chris Hughton will get it right in the transfer market.
Even if United haven't made any additions to their squad in time for the list of pre-season friendlies, Ginola feels that Hughton is right to be cautious.
Ginola told the Evening Chronicle: "What they need now is some stability for the first time in a long time.
"I don't want to see a change in manager, just some continuity.
"Chris is right not to bring in any player because of their name, he's got to get the right type of player at the club at this time. The way they can start to rise back to where they belong is by signing the right players.
"There is the old saying that Rome wasn't built in a day, and for now they have to forget they aren't going to be a top-four team."
