Newcastle legend Asprilla eager to discuss coaching role with Pardew

Newcastle United legend Tino Asprilla is keen to join Alan Pardew's backroom staff.

The Sun says the Colombian legend plans to speak to Toon bosses next week and see if a deal to join Alan Pardew's staff can be thrashed out.

Asprilla, 42, has been helping run his own side back home - who are actually called Club Faustino Asprilla.

But he would love to work at St James' Park and is keen to start working towards his coaching badges in the New Year.
