Newcastle United boss Kevin Keegan is chasing Tottenham fullback Pascal Chimbonda.

The People says Keegan wants the French star to come into his troubled defence and Chimbonda also has an attacking flair to his game that could make him a Toon hero.

Keegan has moved in and wants to agree a price, with a £5million bid in the pipeline that would see Chimbonda go to Newcastle and leave Spurs with the cash to pursue their own targets.
