Newcastle keeper Tim Krul believes the team are starting to collect points they would have let slip last season. They improved their tally by one over the weekend after holding Southampton to a 1-1 draw at St James' Park and Krul was impressed with their battling qualities.
He told the Evening Chronicle: "It was a good point, it keeps Southampton at a distance.
"Last year we would have lost these type of games so I am pleased we took a point in the end.
"Both sides had their chances. We had two good chances and they hit the post.
"They had their chances as well and Adam Lallana made the difference when he came on. It could have gone either way."
