Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul admits their draw with Liverpool was ideal preparation for their looming trip to Sunderland.
Krul feels momentum is now with them.
He said: "The next week will be crazy because it always is in the North East. That is why we needed that result, that response, that togetherness. It gives us a huge boost ahead of the weekend. The base for any team has to be character.
"Everything flowed from there. If you have it you know there will be times during a season when you have to call on it. Especially at times like this when we have got a massive month ahead. In order to come through spells like this you need to have a togetherness, something you can rely on, and we have shown we have that, without a doubt."
