Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul has welcomed fellow Dutchman Vurnon Anita to Tyneside.

Anita signed for Toon last month from Ajax.

Krul told Sport1 Football Magazine: "We needed Vurnon, he's a little pit-bull!

"Vurnon brings something extra and has all the makings of being one of our key players.

"Some of the lads felt this in his first training session!"
