Newcastle United goalkeeper Steve Harper could be set for knee surgery according to Magpies boss Alan Pardew.
The 36-year old was forced out of Tuesday night's scoreless draw with Manchester United and is in doubt for this weekend's trip to Blackpool.
Pardew even said he may miss a couple of weeks as they try to ascertain the seriousness of the problem.
"Harps isn't right and we will have to review him over the next couple of weeks," he said.
"He's not necessarily out for the season, but it could be that he needs a small operation just to sort his little problem out.
"It's not a major problem, but we will have a look at that and weigh that up over the next couple of weeks."
