Newcastle United goalkeeper Shay Given admits crisis and controversy is part of life as a Toon player.

"You get used to it at Newcastle! There has been a bit of turmoil off the pitch, and it has not been great on the pitch either," he told setantasports.com.

"We as players have to concentrate on what we need to do, to get results and get the club back up the league again. Hopefully, things off the pitch will get sorted sooner rather than later."
