Shay Given expects to be between the posts for Newcastle United on Wednesday against Manchester City.

Despite City's interest, a source close to the Irish goalkeeper told the People: "Shay would take it as a personal insult if he was left out of the team to play City for any reason.

"With Steve Harper he is Newcastle's longest-serving player and he has never failed to give 100 per cent for the club, and that's what he would do on Wednesday night."
