Newcastle keeper Forster remains keen on Celtic stay

Newcastle United goalkeeper Fraser Forster would welcome a permanent move to Celtic.

Forster is still keen on a £2million switch from Newcastle rather than returning to life on the fringes of the first team at the Magpies.

He'll know for definite where his future lies after next week's Scottish Cup final.

But asked if the events of this season have changed his feelings about playing here, Forster told the Scottish Sun: "No, not at all. I haven't had any problems, although I'm not a big person for going out anyway.

"There are always going to be issues wherever you go.

"Celtic's a fantastic club with a fantastic history and with the chance to go and play in Europe. The chance to go and win stuff.

"So there's a lot of positives about this club, it's definitely a team on the up.

"The manager's been brilliant and everyone in the place is all pushing in the same direction. But I'm a Newcastle player at the end of the day. So I'll just see what happens.

"I'm not going to knock anyone's door down because it's not really my style. I'll just wait and see. If it's meant to be it'll be. At the minute there's not much to be said."
