Karl Darlow aims to prove himself Premier League class at Newcastle United.

The former Nottingham Forest goalkeeper is looking forward to the challenges ahead as he works with Tim Krul and highly-rated youngster Freddie Woodman.

He told the Evening Chronicle: “It's a Premier League club and I want to see how far I can test myself and see how far I can go.

“This is a big test for me trying to push for the number one jersey in pre-season. We'll see how it goes.

“I need to do my best like I have said all the way through and I'll keep it going.

“We'll see how we get on."
