Newcastle United are keen on West Ham United striker Modibo Maiga.
The Daily Mail says Newcastle will consider a move for Maiga if they fail to prise Loic Remy from Marseille.
Maiga, 25, nearly joined Newcastle from Sochaux a year ago only to fail a medical.
