Sheffield United's teen sensation Harry Maguire is wanted by Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew.

The Sun says Newcastle boss Pardew has been monitoring the powerful 6ft 2in centre-back's form since the start of the season.

Sheffield-born Maguire, 18, starred for the Blades in their glory run to the FA Youth Cup final last season, and has been an ever-present this term.

The Blades want to keep Maguire as they chase an instant return to the Championship and, despite being weighed down by £30m debt, will not allow him to leave on the cheap.

And they look set to get their asking price after he signed a new four-year contract two months ago.
