Newcastle Jets are on the verge of signing their marquee target Fabio Vignaroli.

The Italian is on his way to Australia, presumably to sign a deal with the Jets.

The news was confirmed by the Jets Rome-based director of football Remo Nogarotto.

"Fabio is on a flight tonight and gets in Tuesday night at Sydney," Nogarotto said.

"He's had a few problems getting a few flights out.

"I'll be getting [Jets CEO] John Tstatimas or someone else to pick him up and bring him straight up to Newcastle. I think he'll want to be at training on Wednesday."
