Newcastle Jets sign former Socceroo Wehrman

Newcastle Jets have officially announced the signing of 12-time Australia international Kasey Wehrman.

The 32-year old has signed a two-year deal with the A-League, becoming the Jets third signing in a week after the club secured Jeremy Brockie and Ruben Zadkovich.

Wehrman has spent the past decade in Norway with clubs such as Moss FK, Lillestrom, Fredrikstad and FC Lyn Oslo after beginning his career in 1995 with the Brisbane Strikers and then spending time with Perth Glory.

Jets chief executive John Tsatsimas was delighted to make the announcement, saying Wehrman will provide the club with plenty of experience.

"Naturally we're thrilled to announce that were bringing Kasey into the club from next season," Tsatsimas said.

"The level of experience and quality that he possesses is without question and there is no doubt that he is the kind of player that our young squad can learn from.

"Kasey is the third new signing for the club within the space of a week, so certainly we're excited about the forthcoming season."
