Newcastle Jets to set up new headquarters

A-League club Newcastle Jets are enjoying somewhat of a renaissance with news that they are about to set up new headquarters.

The Jets were operating out of The Store in Hunter St during Con Constantine's reign as owner but will now move to a modern building less than a kilometre away on Hannell St near Carrington Bridge.

Jets chairman Ken Edwards confirmed the move, which will take place very soon, to be the next step in growth under the ownership of mining and racing magnate Nathan Tinkler.

"We are making a fresh start and were after a location that signalled that," Edwards told the Newcastle Herald.

"By Tuesday the fit-out should be finished, the computers in and the phone systems up and going. The office will be easily recognisable.

"It is at a busy roundabout, which has something like 30,000 cars go past it a day.

"There is also provision for external signage. People will know we are there.

"We are into day six now and things are going well," Edwards said of the Tinkler regime.

"We have not hit an impediment yet. Everyone is keen to get involved and help."
