Acting Newcastle Jets captain Ljubo Milicevic is in danger of missing tomorrow night's clash with league leaders Brisbane Roar.

The tough centre-half strained a hamstring late in Saturday night's 3-1 win over Adelaide United and won't be risked if he is not at full fitness according to coach Branko Culina.

"If he's not right by tomorrow he won't play," Culina said yesterday.

"We don't want to risk it.

"With the workload we're facing in this two-week period, we need to be a bit careful how we manage the players.

"I'm happy to wait until tomorrow to see how Ljubo recovers but if there is any doubt, we'll have to bring in a replacement and give him time to prepare."

If Milicevic does happen to miss, youngster Taylor Regan is a likely replacement in the back four.
