Newcastle Jets will have to pay trialist Beau Busch more than $12,000 in overdue fees or face penalties from Football Federation Australia.
Busch has not been compensated by the Jets for three months full-time training and two pre-season games last year and after winning an FFA grievance against the Jets, he has the right to be paid for his services.
The Newcastle Herald reported that, 'An FFA spokeswoman said yesterday Jets management had been informed they would incur penalties most likely fines should they fail to meet their commitments to Busch'.
"We have written to Newcastle today, saying they have got until next Thursday, otherwise sanctions will start applying," she said.
"That's not been decided yet, but it could be something like an additional daily fine until the amount owing is paid."
