Newcastle Jets not attempting to lure Sydney's Musialik

Sydney FC midfielder Stuart Musialik is not a transfer target for Newcastle Jets says coach Branko Culina.

The former Jets man has been heavily linked with a return to his former club but Culina said that there is no way he could fit the 25-year old into his midfield plans.

''If you bring in someone like Stuart Musialik, what do you do with the existing midfielders that we've got who play the same role?'' Culina said.

''What do you do with Kasey Wehrman? What do you do with Ben Kantarovski? What do you do with Jobe Wheelhouse ... I wasn't aware that Stuart was not wanted by Sydney FC. Is he not wanted by Sydney FC?''

Musialik's current deal with Sydney finishes at the end of the season and he said a return to Newcastle is certainly something he would look at.

''Obviously any time I come off contract, Newcastle is always an option because I'm a home-town boy and that sort of thing,'' Musialik said.

''But I guess there's a few things I'd have to weigh up to make my decision about where I want to go. Obviously it's not as easy as just coming back to Newcastle.

''There's a lot of different factors that come into play when you're deciding where you want to go and what you want to do.

''We'll see what happens.''
