Newcastle Jets guest striker Francis Jeffers knows football is not all about simply scoring goals.
The 29-year old Englishman is set for his A-League debut in Saturday’s home clash with Adelaide United and although he is keen to get on the scoresheet as soon as possible, he has enough experience to know it is not the be-all and end-all.
"I want to get a goal as soon as possible, but it is a bit more than that," he told Sportal.
"First and foremost you have got to be a team player and you have got to fit into the way the team plays. You have got to work hard and you have got to help win football matches.
"If we win the majority of the games when I am here and the lads get the other goals then that is not a big problem for me."
