A-League club Newcastle Jets have admitted they would love to have superstar David Beckham at the club as a guest player. Following yesterday's announcement that Beckham's LA Galaxy were coming for an exhibition match with the Jets in late November, club executive chairman Ken Edwards said they would see if there was any possibility if the former England captain could one day pick up a guest stint in the A-League.
"Of course, if there was a way that we could find for David Beckham to play at the club in some way, shape or form we would obviously go after it hard," he told the Newcastle Herald.
"However, I doubt, from what I know of his commitments going forward for this season, if it would be possible.
"While I think it is highly unlikely, it is certainly a question we will ask at some time over the next few weeks."
