Newcastle Jets forward Brockie eager for some injury luck

Newcastle Jets forward Jeremy Brockie is hoping he can remain injury-free for the rest of the season.

The 23-year old returned from two weeks out with a groin injury to be a key factor in New Zealand's 1-1 with Honduras on the weekend and now hopes he can stay out of the trainer's room and get out on the pitch with more regularity.

"…I seemed to get through all right and I felt pretty happy with my performance in the first half and then sort of started to die in the second," he told the Dominion Post.

"But I'm very happy to get the miles in the tank and I feel good about that.

"I've probably had my fair share of injuries now so hopefully I get a bit of good luck on that side and can stay injury-free for the rest of the season and help Newcastle do as well as they can and push for that finals spot."

Brockie was confident that if he could keep up his performances at club level, then his national team career would take care of itself.

"As long as my performances are good for Newcastle then hopefully I can stay in the mix for the All Whites because I really enjoyed the last World Cup campaign and I want to be a part of the next one," Brockie added.
