Newcastle Jets' Branko Culina was delighted to be back on the winners list as a coach yesterday. The former Sydney FC boss led the Jets to a 3-2 victory over Wellington Phoenix at EnergyAustralia Stadium and the three points pleased him greatly.
"It feels terrific," he said.
"It's great to be back, to be honest.
"Coaching is something I really love doing.
"Now I have a 100 per cent record I might ring Con and see if I can resign," Culina joked.
Culina has been thrown I the deep end at Newcastle after the departure of Gary van Egmond but had his players to thank for giving him a win first-up.
"To win first-up is very pleasing," Culina added.
"Credit goes to the players, because they have done it tough.
"I always felt that we were a few weeks away from where we would like to be.
"Some of the football they played today was very good for a side who is a few weeks underdone."
