Newcastle Jets ace Brockie: I'd love to play further abroad

Newcastle Jets attacker Jeremy Brockie admits he would love to test himself abroad in the future.

The 24-year old New Zealand international has had his best A-League season to date, scoring nine goals from 20 starts for the Jets, and would one day like to get a contract with a club further away from home than Australia.

"It's a tough one. I'm really enjoying my football here and comfortable but it's always been a dream of mine to play further abroad," he told au.fourfourtwo.com.

Brockie comes out of contract with Newcastle at the end of the season and although he would like to stay with the Jets, he is keeping the door ajar to a potential move, but only after he helps the club make this season's finals.

"I'm more than happy to stay in Newcastle if we can get something sorted in the next few weeks. But the main focus right now is to get into that top six," he added.

"And when you're in a positive environment [in Newcastle] you're going to perform on the park.

"I've been impressed with my season so far but I can't take my foot off the pedal."
