Steaua Bucharest defender Dorin Goian is a target for Newcastle United.

The Sunday Sun says Magpies' executive director Dennis Wise and technical co-ordinator Jeff Vetere have told Romanian centre-half Goian that a switch to St James's may be possible.

But the decision on whether to make a bid for the Steaua Bucharest stopper is in the hands of United manager Kevin Keegan.
