Newcastle United are in talks over a cash deal for West Brom striker Salomon Rondon.
Sky Sports says the Toon are holding talks today to sign Rondon for £16million.
The West Brom striker has been linked with a move back to the Premier League all summer following the Baggies' relegation last season.
Toon and Hawthorns chiefs are thrashing out a fee for the Venezuelan frontman.
Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez is desperately trying to bolster his squad ahead of the new campaign.
And after granting Aleksandar Mitrovic permission to speak to Fulham, a new No9 is his top priority.
The Spaniard has also been linked with Liverpool's Danny Ings but it now appears the 28-year-old West Brom star is heading up North to lead the Toon attack.
