Former Newcastle United striker Shola Ameobi is considering retirement at Notts County.

Now 36, Ameobi admits he'll have to assess his situation at the end of the current campaign.

He told BBC Nottingham: “It's a tough one. My mind wants to [continue], but I have always said I will take stock at the end of every season and give myself a couple of weeks to mull it over and see if I am good to go."

Manager Kevin Nolan has said he will offer Ameobi a place on the Notts County coaching staff should he decide to hang up his boots.
