Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew still has Hannover striker Mohammed Abdellaoue in his sights.

The 26 year-old Norway international has been watched extensively by Toon chief scout Graham Carr this season.

Abdellaoue has ambitions of playing in England and is under consideration for Pardew along with Montpellier forward Olivier Giroud.

Any deal for either player isn't dependent on Newcastle's expected capture of Sochaux striker Modibo Maiga.
