Newcastle United manager Steve McClaren has stated that his side are still suffering from the problems that plagued the club over the last 18 months.
The Magpies continued their terrible start to the season by suffering a 6-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester City on Saturday.
The defeat leaves Newcastle rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table and in turn, heaps further pressure on the shoulders of McClaren.
Following the poor start, McClaren has now vowed to turn things around at St. James' Park but has stated that his side are still recovering from the problems that have been issues under previous bosses Alan Pardew and John Carver.
McClaren said: "In the last 12 to 18 months that has been the problem at this football club. We're here to turn that around and we're going to do whatever it takes to turn that around and you're absolutely right – that is a difficult job. That is a tough job to do.
"But we'll do it. We're determined to do it and get back to work on Monday. As you say, this is not just happening now. This has been happening for 18 months. We have to turn it around."
