John Carver is well aware his Newcastle United side needs to start recording some valuable points.
The Magpies lost 2-0 at Liverpool on Monday night, which was their fifth-straight defeat, leaving them on 35 points in fifth place.
Carver can sense that a relegation fight is looming near with his side sitting nine points above the drop zone so has urged his players to start reeling in some much-needed comfort in the final five weeks of the season.
"We have six cup finals and we need to pick up some points by hook or by crook. That is why our fans are going to be important to us," he said.
"I have enough belief in this group of lads and if we see anything near what I saw tonight there won't be a problem."
Newcastle will now look ahead to their home meeting with Tottenham at St James' Park on Sunday.
