Newcastle United are in pursuit of Metz striker Diafra Sakho according to reports.
The Magpies may be forced into the transfer market for a new forward in the summer with expected outside interest in QPR loanee Loic Remy as well as Senegal international Papiss Cisse.
According to The Mirror, Cisse's fellow Senegalese Sakho has emerged on the radar of the Toon despite the fact he is still contracted to French club Metz until June 2015.
Sakho has scored 15 goals in 27 appearances for Les Grenats in France's Ligue 2 this season.
