Newcastle United fullback James Tavernier hopes to see friendly action against Leeds United.
Tavernier has proved he is more than an able deputy during pre-season so far with a string of top-notch performances - not least in his last run- out at Columbus Crew when he was a man-of-the- match contender.
The teenage defender told the Evening Chronicle: "I want to prove to the gaffer he can trust me, and hopefully I am building that trust now."
Leeds fan Tavernier added: "I will be wearing a black-and-white top, I will do my best for the club.
"I will be proud to be playing for Newcastle, but I still love Leeds!"
