Newcastle United defender Danny Simpson has no problem with the signing of former Inter Milan fullback Davide Santon.
Simpson insists he welcomes the competition.
He told the Evening Chronicle: "I have been brought up with competition.
"At Manchester United we had me, Wes Brown, John O'Shea and Gary Neville all battling for the right-back spot.
"I'm used to it!
"It's good to bring players in and we have a good team bond. If people get changed or moved, it's a team game, we all stick together.
"I can't see that affecting anything."
