Reading boss Brian McDermott is chasing Newcastle United fullback Danny Simpson.
The Daily Mail says McDermott is closing on a deal for Newcastle's Simpson.
Simpson's arrival will end McDermott's search for a new right back, with the Reading boss also running the rule over Crystal Palace's Nathaniel Clyne and Spurs's Kyle Naughton.
