Newcastle fullback Simpson expects more from Cisse

Newcastle United fullback Danny Simpson has welcomed the impact of new teammate Papiss Demba Cisse.

The No 9 is taking fast-track English lessons, but Simpson feels the universal language of goals can help elevate Newcastle to the upper echelons of the Premier League.

Simpson told the Evening Chronicle: "He is learning already.

"Demba is helping him, but he's taking everything on board.

"He's been here a few days now and he's a happy lad. That's the type of characters we have here.

"He's coming into a good dressing room and he's the type of lad we like - and what we need.

"It's good to have him here."
