Newcastle United fullback Massadio Haidara is shocked by the decision not to ban Wigan Athletic attacker Callum McManaman for his ugly challenge last weekend.
Haidara was carried off during Newcastle's 2-1 defeat at the DW Stadium on Sunday after McManaman's knee-high tackle.
And although scans have revealed only serious bruising to his left leg, the 20-year-old will be out for three weeks.
Haidara told Le Parisien: "I don't understand (the decision not to ban McManaman). His tackle could have ended my career and ruined my life but in the end he will play football before me. We have to protect the players. We can't tolerate tackles like this in football."
