Newcastle United are desperate to secure Cheik Tiote to a new contract.
The Sunday Sun says a new deal for Tiote is in the pipeline although mounting interest from Chelsea is worrying Newcastle.
The Blues made a tentative enquiry this month and are almost certain to come back in the summer.
Tiote's reputation will only improve after his performance against Arsenal on Saturday.
