Newcastle fans want Pardew to stay

Newcastle United fans are backing the club in not sacking Alan Pardew after Saturday's antics.

Pardew could be banned for ten games over his clash with Hull City midfielder David Meyler.

The influential Evening Chronicle has run a poll over whether Pardew should be sacked for his behaviour.

Fans have backed the Magpies' boss, with 61% saying they think he should keep his job.

The remaining 39%, however, think his job should be under threat after his unruly behaviour.

Our poll was up and running on Saturday night. Overnight, the split in opinion stood at 66-34 in Pardew's favour - but the gap narrowed slightly yesterday.
