Newcastle United fans broke a 30 year-old crowd attendance record for last night's FA Youth Cup defeat to Chelsea.
The 11,000-plus which made the tie was the biggest crowd seen at St James' Park for a youth game in 30 years.
Toon striker Adam Armstrong told the Evening Chronicle: "I thought it was brilliant. I seen a stat and some League One clubs couldn't get that many fans.
"It's just amazing and shows what Newcastle is all about. It's all about the fans supporting the youngsters.
"For 11,000 to be there was amazing. And we'll never forget that."
