Newcastle United have failed with a new bid for Feyenoord fullback Daryl Janmaat.

The Evening Chronicle says United value the right-back at around £5million and have been in contact with the Eredivisie side in the last 48 hours to try and push through a deal to coincide with the sale of Mathieu Debuchy to Arsenal.

But well-sourced reports in Holland have claimed that Feyenoord are looking for closer to £6million for their international full-back.
