Newcastle United are back in for Birmingham City defender Liam Ridgewell.
The Mirror says Newcastle will face a fight with West Bromwich Albion to sign £2m rated Birmingham defender Ridgewell in January.
Cash-strapped Brum are expected to sell Ridgewell during the winter market.
